A Teenager’s Vegas Adventure
The Journey Begins
At the age of 15, I embarked on what was known as a “turnaround” trip to Las Vegas, a city synonymous with casinos and gambling. The chartered bus we took wasn’t fully booked, which was a requirement for the trip to proceed. I went with a friend, whose mother had organized the trip and allowed us to go, provided we behaved ourselves and stayed out of trouble, including avoiding gambling.
Arrival in Sin City
We arrived in Las Vegas at midnight, greeted by a sweltering 100-degree temperature with no breeze in sight—typical for Sin City. Despite the heat, we were excited for the adventures that awaited us. We wandered through the air-conditioned casinos, playing the slot machines as long as we had nickels to spare.
